Annual International Conference Held at ISEC NAS RA
June 9, 2026
On June 5, the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA (ISEC NAS RA) hosted its annual international conference. This year, the event was titled "Interdisciplinary Research and Innovative Technologies."
The conference agenda featured 45 scientific reports addressing contemporary issues across various fields of science, offering valuable practical solutions. The conference commenced with a plenary session and proceeded with specialized panel discussions in the following sections:
- Psychology
- Education Management
- Linguistics and Philology
- Economics
- History and Sociology
- Natural Sciences
The event brought together individual authors, participants, guests, members of the ISEC administration, and faculty members from various departments.
The plenary session was chaired by Prof. Naira Hakobyan, Doctor of Psychological Sciences and Deputy Director on Research Affairs at ISEC. Welcoming the attendees, she wished everyone a creative and productive workflow.
The conference was officially opened by Armen Sargsyan, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Director of ISEC. In his welcoming remarks, he wished the participants a successful conference and emphasized:
"Today we are gathered around an idea that has always been the foundation of human progress—the creation, dissemination, and advancement of knowledge. In a rapidly changing world, science has long transcended the boundaries of individual disciplines. Modern challenges demand new thinking, new approaches, and, most importantly, collaboration. This is why interdisciplinary dialogue—where scientists from various fields combine their knowledge and expertise to find novel solutions—has become a vital prerequisite for scientific progress. This conference serves as precisely such a platform."
The Director also highlighted the participation of different generations, describing it as a convergence of tradition and innovation aimed at developing scientific potential and ensuring the sustainable progress of the state.
Additional welcoming remarks were delivered by Narine Vardanyan (Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor), Head of the ISEC Quality Assurance Department, and Atom Mkhitaryan (Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of Pedagogy), Dean of ISEC.
Drawing on her expertise in higher education management, Narine Vardanyan emphasized the continuous modernization of science and education within the university framework. She stressed the role of such conferences, noting that beyond presenting ready-made solutions, formulating new inquiries is equally crucial.
In his speech, Atom Mkhitaryan introduced the neologism "generalist" into the scientific discourse, linking it directly to the conference theme. He noted that 21st-century educational and scientific trends require professionals to be versatile, possessing cross-disciplinary knowledge alongside their core expertise to provide more comprehensive solutions to scientific challenges.
Keynote Presentations
The plenary session featured the following scientific reports:

- Dr. Meri Shaboyan, Associate Professor (USA) – "Speech-Language Pathologists: Professional Challenges and Hidden Risks"
Both the plenary session and the sectional presentations were followed by active and constructive discussions. This proved that the ISEC annual international conference remains a highly anticipated scientific event and an effective platform for dialogue, engaging not only the ISEC community but also the broader Armenian scientific fraternity and international participants.
A notable success of the conference organization was the publication of the digital conference proceedings, containing peer-reviewed articles, which was made available on the very day of the event.
