Department of Aerospace Engineering
Head of Department:
Dr. Andranik Armen Aghajanyan
PhD in Technical Sciences
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA was established in 2023 as a result of strategic collaboration with the Engineering Association of Armenia. Its foundation reflects the growing importance of the aerospace engineering profession in Armenia and the critical need to train highly qualified professionals in this field.
Located within Engineering City, the department benefits from close proximity to cutting-edge scientific, technical, and technological resources that support both educational and research activities.
Academic Program
The department offers a Master’s degree program in Aerospace Engineering, developed and implemented with the active support and participation of leading organizations, including:
- National Instruments Armenia (NI Armenia)
- Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA)
- Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF)
- Bazoomq Aerospace Laboratory
- Advanced Technology Group (ATG)
- Yerevan Aerospace Engineering
- Armenian Aerospace Agency
- And other aerospace-related companies and institutions
This broad cooperation strengthens the university–industry partnership model and helps meet the increasing demand for qualified aerospace engineers in both the Armenian and international job markets.
Department Objectives
The primary goal of the Aerospace Engineering Master’s degree program is to prepare engineers capable of addressing a wide range of challenges in the design, modelling, research, validation, and calibration of aerospace electronic and radio-technical systems. Graduates will be equipped to work in aerospace industry companies, research institutions, and innovation-driven engineering environments.
Instruction is delivered by a highly qualified team of specialists from academia, industry, and research. The department also provides professional development and continuing education programs.
Program Specialization: Aerospace Engineering
Research Activities
The department maintains strong collaborative ties with both Armenian and international companies, research centres, and academic institutions. These partnerships extend beyond the classroom to include applied research, much of which is integrated into students’ Master’s theses.
Research topics are aligned with current technological needs and are proposed by leading aerospace organizations. These topics span a wide range—from the development of aerospace instruments to the analysis and optimization of complex aerospace systems. The department actively encourages students and faculty to publish their findings in academic journals and present at national and international conferences.
