Official Meetings of the AFISHE Project Held at the University of Dubrovnik

The official meetings of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project “Development of Aquaculture and Fisheries Education for the Green Deal in Armenia and Ukraine: From Education to Ecology” (AFISHE) were held at the University of Dubrovnik (Croatia) from 27th to 30th May 2025. Representatives of the project coordinating institutions came together to summarize the work done so far, exchange experiences and develop strategic directions for the further development of the project, taking into account the goals of the Green Deal.
The meetings were attended by representatives of the National Agrarian University of Armenia (NAAU), the ISEC of the NAS RA, the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the NAS of the RA (affiliated partner), the University of Dubrovnik (UNIDU), the Slovak Agricultural University (SUA), the Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU), and the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE).
The agenda of the meetings included the presentation of the work packages and a summary of the work carried out within their framework. G. Hambardzumyan presented the general progress and achievements of the project, followed by the report on the quality assurance work package presented by Martin Fick, representatives of the Slovak Agricultural University. Then Tatyana Dobroslavich spoke about the work carried out within the framework of the outreach and communication component.
Then the participants discussed the strategy for forming the AFISHE partner network. Discussions on financial management and reporting also took place, and at the end, in an open discussion format, the partners presented their observations on the progress of the project implementation.
During the meetings, the important goal of the program was once again emphasized: the creation of modern “AFISHE laboratories” at participating universities, which will serve as research and educational platforms to promote academic innovation and the development of sectoral knowledge.
The AFISHE program continues to promote Armenia-Ukraine-EU partnership cooperation in the field of fish farming and aquaculture towards environmentally sustainable solutions and educational reforms.
