Invitation to the Republican Conference

The staff of the RA Aragatsotn Province Governor and the Talin Municipality are jointly organizing a republican conference on "The Historical and Cultural Profile of Aragatsotn," which will take place on June 20, in Talin. It is dedicated to the memory of the today’s hero of Talin, Mihran Asatryan.

Master's degree students, post-graduate students, applicants, researchers are invited to participate in the conference, who have to submit presentations.

The topics of the presentation should be addressed to Aragatsotn and include one of the following subjects:

• Ethnography
• Historical Memory
• Dialectology
• Architecture
• Geography
• Education
• Spiritual and Cultural Centers
• Printing History

The significance of the conference rises from the following goals and expected results:

Goals

• To promote the research activity highlighting the preservance of historical, geographical, archeological, demographical, and historical-cultural heritage and other current issues related to the Aragatsotn region.
• To represent the role of Aragatsotn in the formation and development of historical processes in the region.
• To bring together the representatives of different fields of science and education to be engaged in the research activities carried out in the above fields.
• To create a productive academic environment for discussing the related topics.

Expected Results

• Formation of the historical and cultural profile of the Aragatsotn region in the context of current perception and understanding.
• Consolidation and enhancement of new research activities.
• Compilation of all pertinent domain information.

Please note that the deadline for the online applications is April 15, the confirmation deadline is April 30. The agenda will be available on May 5. The language of the conference is Armenian.

The current Aragatsotn was a part of Aragatsotn province, the central part of Ayrarat in the historical Greater Armenia. Once it was also known as "Aragatsi votn," "Aragatsotan," "Koghmn Aragatsa." It has been a spotlight in major historic events for centuries.

Currently, Aragatsotn is an administrative unit with the regional status including the territories of Ashtarak, Aparan, Tallinn, and Aragats. It is also rich in historical-cultural, architectural, and spiritual monuments. The purpose of the organized republican conference is to attract the attention of the cultural, scientific, educational and spiritual world to the rich historical and cultural region of Aragatsotn.
