A Regular Meeting of ISEC’s Directorate Members with the Heads of Departments

On June 26, the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA hosted a regular meeting of the Directorate members with the department heads. The meetings objectives were to consider issues related to the admission and educational process of the 2023-2024 Master's degree program, to summarize the outcomes of the 2nd semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, to discuss the activities provided for by the review plan of the  vocational education program as well as by the ISEC’s improvement plan, to introduce the activity results of  the committee on ranking issues, and to discuss matters pertaining to amendments to a number of ISEC’s procedures.

A. Sargsyan, Director of ISEC NAS RA, gave a warm welcome to the attendees and emphasized the value of a thorough discussion of all the topics on the agenda. He also touched on the procedure for including ISEC in the ranking lists of the best universities, as well as admission to the Master's degree for the 2023–2024 academic year and several other important topics.

In presenting the results of the second semester of the 2022–23 academic year, E. Zargaryan, the Deputy Director on Educational Affairs of ISEC NAS RA, noted that the implementation of a new assessment system had a positive impact on the outcomes of students' academic performance. E. Zargaryan also brought up the issue of broadening the subject matter covered by the Center's improvement plan, which would increase independent study and practical coursework.

N. Vardanyan, the head of ISEC NAS RA's Quality Assurance Department, provided a list of tasks for each department to complete as part of the center's improvement program. These tasks included revising and improving outcome-based curricula, ensuring employer participation, conducting mutual assessment surveys for the teaching staff, and referring to the findings of the department's analysis.

The work implemented to maintain the inclusion of ISEC NAS RA in the ranking tables of the best universities was presented by the dean of ISEC NAS RA, A. Mkhitaryan, along with the findings of monitoring the remote platform. He highlighted the use of the remote platform in terms of fostering students' capacity for independent work and the formation of new skills.

The heads of the departments made several suggestions and recommendations to enhance the Center's operations during the meeting's productive discussion.
