Training on Salzburg Principles in Graz (Austria)


On 5-7 May 2014, a meeting of EU Tempus VERITAS (Structural Development of the Third Cycle Based on Salzburg Principles) project representatives was held in Graz, Austria. The Project members are representatives from higher education institutions and other institutions of educational system of the Republic of Armenia. The meeting was held with the support of the WUS Austria non-governmental organization. The meeting served a good platform for RA higher education institutions for further establishment of common approaches for the third cycle education in the Republic of Armenia.

The training was a good opportunity for the RA educational institutions to accept and implement new standards in line with European Higher Education Area initiatives.

One of the meetings took place at Graz University which had its useful input especially with sharing its experience about PhD education, mainly the postgraduate education.

Below is presented the staff of Armenian delegation: representatives of the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education and Science, “The Republic of Armenia Ultimate Qualification Commission” Agency, “National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance” foundation, Yerevan State Medical University (Project Coordinator), the RA National Academy of Sciences, Yerevan State University, Armenian State University of Economics, Armenian State University of Architecture and Construction, Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov, Gavar State University, Vanadzor State Pedagogical University, “Education Quality” Ltd, Yerevan Northern University.

During the training Armenian representatives were due to make presentations on the third cycle of Higher Education in RA, their structures and achievements based on Salzburg Principles.

Arusyak Harutyunyan, head of the foreign affairs department and Angela Papikyan, senior specialist in the foreign affairs department represented NAS RA in Graz.
